Marble worktops are known for their timeless, high-end look, but many people worry they are difficult to maintain. In reality, marble is easy to care for if you follow a few simple habits and understand how the material behaves.

Daily Cleaning Made Simple
For everyday cleaning, all you need is:
Warm water
A small amount of mild dish soap
A soft cloth or microfibre towel
Wipe the surface and dry it afterwards to avoid streaks or water marks. Avoid harsh sprays or chemical cleaners unless they are specifically made for natural stone.

Do’s and Don’ts
Do:
Wipe spills quickly, especially wine, coffee, and oils
Use chopping boards, coasters, and trivets
Clean regularly with gentle products
Don’t:
Use vinegar, lemon, bleach, or abrasive cleaners
Leave liquids sitting on the surface
Cut directly on the marble
.
Sealing & Long-Term Care
Sealing protects marble by slowing down how quickly liquids absorb.
Reseal every 6 to 12 months
Use the water test: if water soaks in quickly, it is time to reseal
Over time, marble may develop a soft patina in high-use areas. This is completely normal and part of its natural character.

The Bottom Line
Marble is not high maintenance; it just requires a bit of awareness. With quick cleaning, the right products, and occasional sealing, your worktop will stay beautiful for years and age in a way that adds to its appeal.
